A car booking company is accepting credit card payments at car rentals in Honolulu.
A sign posted at a car rental location in Honolulu says car rental companies are accepting credit and debit cards.
The sign says: “Payment accepted with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Discover Debit Card, American Bank Card, or a PayPal account.”
The sign is posted in the parking lot at a Car Rental Center in Hilo, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of Honolulu.
The Honolulu Business Journal reports that the car rental firm is known as CarRental Hawaii.
It’s not clear if the sign is still up, but the company has been open about its acceptance of credit cards in the past.
This is a new sign that suggests a new kind of car rental industry.
It is not clear whether this new approach is the result of the recent explosion in rental cars in the U.S., or if it’s simply a new way of paying for cars in Honolulu, or some other location.
It has been a long time coming, but car rental agencies are increasingly being open about accepting credit, debit and PayPal.
