A car rental company has been accused of offering a car rental to mothers with no training and no experience.
Car Momma says it is a safe and affordable option for women to rent cars in Southern California.
Car momma is a company offering rental cars for families who can’t afford a car themselves, but would rather rent out a car than drive it themselves.
Its been going for about a year and a half now and we’ve been working hard to get this to be a really good service and not just a scam, Car Mommies chief executive officer, Lisa Lebron said.
“There’s no way to vet people,” she said.
“We have no training to vet this.”
The only way to do it is to ask them to drive to the car rental agency, which is not easy to do, but the car is great.
“So the car doesn’t have to be fully loaded and you can do it quickly.”‘
We’re not here to be an expert’The company says it has been working to help women who have little experience with renting cars with their cars and have little knowledge about the industry.
“I’m just trying to help people and this is just a way for us to get the cars,” Car Mom momma owner Melissa Burdick said.
Car Moms CEO Lisa LeBron says the company is not offering a test drive.
“This is not the kind of car rental we are offering, but we will be happy to give you a test run if you’re ready to drive,” she told ABC News.
But Car Momms chief executive, Lisa A. Lebros, said it was not an experience she was looking for.
“We’re here to help them learn,” she says.
“And the only way we can do that is to teach them how to drive, how to properly use a car and how to use the internet.”
Ms Lebrons father, who is a driver, also said he was not ready to get behind the wheel yet.
“My dad is going to have to learn to drive on his own, but if I can do this for him then I’m all set,” he said.
In 2016, Car Moms offered a trial rental of a $1,000 car for mothers with little to no experience in the industry, but not everyone was interested.
“A lot of women were upset with it, saying it wasn’t fair to ask for an experience of a mother driving a car that she’s not qualified to use, or that she hasn’t even learned how to operate,” Ms Lebris said.
But she says the test drive for Car Mommas is the first time in years that a woman has been offered a car.
“Our goal is to give women the tools they need to become self-sufficient and take charge of their own lives,” she added.
“And this is the one way we’re going to do that.”
